Every family has traditions. We all have those things that we do every year and often times the only way to explain why is by saying...we've just always done it that way.
Part of Honduran tradition is to receive a brand new outfit for Christmas. This outfit, from head to toe, is what everyone wears on Christmas day. The families that work in the GARBAGE DUMP are focused on surviving.
They are very rarely able to purchase any gifts for their kids.
Much less an entire outfit.
For most of them, the only gift they receive is the one that AFE provides for them.
I met God at AFE. I am a totally different person now than I was five years ago. I have graduated high school and am now studying to be a doctor at a university. The rest of my family is still in the garbage dump.
